A big congratulations to Alexandra Roberts, the winner of this years photo competition for her image of a black rhino running through the bush at Kariega Game Reserve.

Claus and Iris Wollmer were with us at River Lodge this June and sent us some amazing wildlife photo's taken during their time out on safari at Kariega Game Reserve! Images include our new lion cubs, some giraffe, and the new rhino calf as well as some pics of the rangers and sundowner drinks at the game reserve. Thank you Claus and Iris for sharing these lovely shots with us and we hope to see you back on the reserve one day!

It seems that everyone is sharing the love this festive season - even these two giraffe, captured at Kariega Game Reserve South Africa.

While giraffe are not particularly affectionate animals, they do communicate with each other using infrasound...

Giraffe are a gentle and social species, often moving around with others in a herd and even taking care of each others young. There are about 9 different sub-species of giraffe, all having very different spots. The southern African giraffe, found in most South African game parks, has a fuller, blotchy spot. Its a great time to view Giraffe on Kariega Game Reserve South Africa as there are plenty new editions that have arrived with Spring! Thanks Tarita for sharing this great pic!

It would seem like all the elephants are conspiring to have their babies at the same time and now we have 5 new baby elephants, look out trees! Soon you will feel their presence. It has also been confirmed that the lioness had 3 new cubbies here...
