Ticks occur in many parts of the world and Africa is no exception. Ticks occur mostly in rural and wilderness areas throughout South Africa, including at Kariega Game Reserve. Tick bites can be largely prevented and accordingly we recommend that you apply the insect repellant (available in your suite/chalet, from your ranger or at reception) on all walks. For more information read: What to do if you find a tick while on safari.
