It seems that everyone is sharing the love this festive season - even these two giraffe, captured at Kariega Game Reserve South Africa.
While giraffe are not particularly affectionate animals, they do communicate with each other using infrasound (too low frequency for the human ear to hear), and also occasionally through touching and looking - especially between a mother and calf. This special moment was captured by Kariega Game Reserve guest, Katja Lötzerich. Thank you Katja for sharing this with us, it is a truly great shot and great framing!
