Video: Rhino Thandi Nov 2014
Video update on rhino poaching survivor Thandi
This video gives an update on Thandi, the brave survivor of the rhino poaching attack in March 2012. We encourage you to share it, and get involved in whatever way you can to help in the fight for the survival of rhino.
Since the beginning of 2012 poachers have killed over 1,800 rhinos in South Africa. We are currently losing three rhinos every day. The number of rhino's killed by poachers in 2014 is already over 1,000. It is up to us to educate and inform those who do not understand that our rhinos are dying to (impossibly) cure ailments and feed human greed.
We are so proud of the role that Thandi plays in the fight for rhino conservation. She is a beacon of hope for all of us.
Thandi lives on Kariega Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Kariega covers 10,000 ha of pristine wilderness, and is home to the famous Big 5, zebra, giraffe, hippo, multiple species of antelope and an abundance of birdlife. Kariega is a family-owned and operated private game reserve, giving it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Set on African plains with magnificent hills and dramatic river valleys, it is a hidden gem that combines spectacular and dramatic vistas with an abundance of African game and wildlife. There is a choice of five safari lodges.
