Unexpected visitor at Eastern Cape Reserve
Kali Sakai and her husband were delighted to discover an unexpected visitor to their private plunge pool at Kariega Game Reserve.
During their recent stay at Ukhozi Lodge the couple returned from breakfast one morning to find this thirsty giraffe enjoying a drink from their elevated swimming pool.
Kariega offers visitors a unique and typically South African Big 5 wilderness experience. Guests enjoy close-up encounters with wildlife from the open safari vehicles. Qualified and experienced guides lead all drives and share interesting information about the animals with guests.
Encounters such as the one shown in the video are rare as all animals are wild and spend time happily drinking from either of the two rivers or numerous watering holes on the reserve.
