Saudi School Raises Funds For Rhinos
We are so grateful to the children, teachers and parents from Dhahran Tower Nursery & Preschool in Saudi Arabia for donating R6000 to our Kariega Foundation Save the Rhino fund.
Rhino Thandi's Story Inspires Saudi School
South African teacher Florina Froneman-Gerber started a class discussion about conservation at the Dhahran Tower Nursery & Preschool in Saudi Arabia. The conversation moved on to include talking about the many threats to black and white rhino. Florina shared the story of how Thandi was poached for her horns and how she miraculously survived. Thandi's story inspired the children to want to help conserve and protect rhino.
Saudi School Raises Funds for Rhinos
With great minds and humble hearts, the children launched a fund raiser at their school. Handmade bracelets, pre-loved toys and books were sold at a market day on 29 May 2018. The amazing amount of R6,000 was raised during the market day and has been donated to our Kariega Foundation Save the Rhino fund. This money will be used to help protect Thandi, her rhino family and all of the rhinos living at Kariega Game Reserve in South Africa.
The Kariega Foundation and Kariega Game Reserve are immensely grateful to all the children, staff and parents of the Dhahran Tower Nursery & Preschool in Saudi Arabia for the generous donation. We salute you for standing with us in the fight against rhino poaching and keeping our wildlife safe.
We would love to hear your rhino conservation stories. Please share them in the comments below or on our Facebook page, via Instagram or on Twitter. Together we can make a difference.
