Photos: Thembi the Rhino is 4 Months Old
Rhino warrior Angie Goody took these lovely photographs of Thandi and her young calf Thembi enjoying a mud bath recently. We share the pictures with you today in honour of this new young life, a symbol of hope in the fight against rhino poaching.
Eastern Cape Rhino Survives Brutal Poaching and is a Happy Mum
Thembi, meaning Hope in isiXhosa, is 4 months old already. Her brave mum Thandi was a victim of a brutal poaching on Kariega in March 2012. She survived against all odds and her fight to survive has helped raise awareness across the globe for the plight of rhinos. On 13 January 2015 she gave birth to this beautiful and feisty little calf.
