Giraffe Take a Safari Spring Break
Spring has arrived at Kariega Safari Park. There is an abundance of water and a many of plants are flowering, making the morning and evening safari trips even more spectacular than usual.
Herd of giraffe found lying down on safari drive
While out on a recent safari drive we came across a herd of giraffe lying down in a patch of bright yellow flowers. This is very unusual, as giraffe usually remain standing while they rest. This is because there are constant threats to their survival and they must remain alert at all times. Standing up can be a slow and risky business when your limbs are that long!
One of our guests on this safari drive commented: “Perhaps the the giraffe are taking a spring break!”
