1. Game Drives – Morning, Noon and Night
All Kariega guests go out on game drives in the early morning and late afternoon. At the Homestead you can also persuade your ranger to take you out for a night drive after dinner… especially when lured by the sound of roaring lion! The night time bush is an entirely different experience as the nocturnal animals come out to play. Make sure you add this to your to do list.
2. Day Tripping
A personal favourite while staying at the Homestead is a day trip, with a packed picnic lunch, to the beach at Kenton-on-Sea. Departure time is after breakfast and the sleep-in is always welcome! Take a safari trip for approximately two hours down to the Bushmans river. Enjoy a beautiful boat trip down to the small coastal village of Kenton-on-Sea. Spend an hour on the beach picnicking, swimming, walking or playing and then make the return trip back to the lodge. It is a really great day, especially if you are traveling with children.
3. Quiet Time in the Tree House
The Homestead has a quaint tree house – or viewing platform. Big enough for one or two people it is the perfect place for some quiet time - meditate, watch birds or view game. If you are lucky an elephant, lion or rhino may wonder by beneath you!

Because the Homestead is a private lodge a Boma evening often turns into a typical family dinner or party with friends. This could include games, music, singing and always love and laughter. There is no better place to experience this sense of family or community that under an African sky!
