Thandi the rhino at Kariega Game Reserve has undergone many surgeries and treatments since her horn was hacked off in March last year. This morning, 19 months after she was poached, the Kariega team and Thandi's doctors are preparing for what we hope will be her last treatment procedure.

It is very unusual to see an Aardvark during the day. Johanna and her party were very excited to see this shy, nocturnal and sought after animal on their recent safari.

September had so many wonderful highlights and numerous national significant days were celebrated by volunteers on Kariega Game Reserve.

A big thank you from the Kariega Foundation to our guest Anne Leitch from Australia who handed over a bunch of sports shirts to the students at Farmerfield School for the netball and soccer team. The teams are all very excited to play their first match in their official team shirts!

Today is World Animal Day and we wanted to celebrate with our fans by showcasing some of the lessor spotted and lessor profiled animals - maybe not all as impressive as the great African Big 5, but all just as special and beautiful nonetheless.
